GREEN OPTIONS DOMINATES THE SUMMER

Our Sports Turf Curators Take Out the Top 5 Spots in This Year’s Sydney Premier Cricket Ground Assessment

Our Sports Turf Curators have achieved an exceptional result this year, we not only took out first place in the 2019/2020 Sydney Premier Ground Assessment, but we also took out all top 5 positions. To top off this already fantastic achievement, all of our maintained 1st grade grounds were ranked in the top 10 for this years competition!

1st

Drummoyne Oval

Drummoyne Oval was awarded first place after having a particularly busy season this year, with not only the regularly scheduled 1st grade matches, the oval also hosted the Marsh Cup Fixture, WBBL weekend, Sheffield Shield (with 3 days notice), English Lions and the Governor Generals fixtures.

Performance Director - England & Wales Cricket Board

“... a special mention of thanks to the Drummoyne curator and his staff who went above and beyond in order to get our final 50-over game on.”

2nd

Pratten Park
Western Suburbs District Cricket Club

“It’s been a long time coming but the first half of the 19/20 season has seen Pratten Park rated in the Top 5 grounds in the @premiercricket competition. Nothing beats a great cricket wicket and smooth outfield! #swoopingseason”

3rd

Manly Oval
Manly Warringah District Cricket Club

“1’s are on the park thanks to the great work by Green Options. Sensational! #waratahmatchday”

4th

Waverley Oval

Waverley Oval has been in the top 5 the last few years, consistently in the top 10 over the last decade including taking out the top prize in that period. A huge testament to our curators for delivering, day in day out, consistent results year after year.

Easts Cricket

“... may I take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank your ground staff for all of their efforts and success this season. Waverley Oval is a magnificent showpiece.”

A huge congratulations to Randwick Petersham on winning the First Grade Premiership. This is their inaugural premiership since the 2 clubs merged in 2001.

Randwick Petersham Cricket Club

“Please pass on our appreciation and thanks to the groundsmen for their efforts in getting Coogee up and running following the heavy rains and debris a couple of weeks ago.”

7th

Allan Border Oval
Mosman Cricket Club

“The Allan Border wicket was the best it’s been for several seasons. It had good bounce and carry.”

9th

David Phillips Grounds UNSW

Special mention to the UNSW David Phillips ground for making the top 10 list in its inaugural year of being a first grade facility.

Craig David - UNSW

“I speak on behalf of the University and the Clubs that use DP. Outstanding work to have the grounds in SCG/MCG like condition.”

This cricket season saw some extraordinary challenges like no other before, we were challenged with dense smoke hazes covering the skies for weeks in December, and February saw a massive 378mm of rainfall.

Our teams pulled out all stops and worked around the clock to ensure games were played on the best turf surfaces possible. Drying out the turf became the priority. 3 weekends were touch and go but the ingenuity of the team drying pitches and wet spots in the ground meant that the cricketers were game on with the best turf surfaces possible!

Congratulations to all Councils, Clubs, Universities, and Volunteers. The great partnerships that have developed over many years is what makes these incredible results possible. At Green Options we are very fortunate to work with many great people who without their contribution, successful seasons like this would not be possible. Thank you and well done to all involved and we look forward to seeing you all back on the pitch. Stay Safe Everyone.
