GREEN OPTIONS SUPPORTING WOMEN IN TURF
We are proud to announce that one of our very own, Lilly Dahtler, has been selected as one of the six female greenkeepers to participate in John Deere’s Women in Turf program!
Lilly and 5 other women worked alongside staff at Cobram Barooga Golf Club to prepare the course for the TPS Murray River golf tournament, which features a mixed field of men and women competing for the same prize purse. The program gave Lilly the opportunity to operate state-of-the-art John Deere equipment at Cobram Barooga Golf Club. A huge congratulations to Lilly and all the other talented women in the turf industry, it was great to see you all involved in such a fantastic program for our industry.
Lilly worked in conjunction with the 5 others and the six staff at the golf course throughout the week, preparing the course for the tournament which is part of the Webex Players Series – a joint PGA and WPGA event that ran from 2nd to 5th February 2023. A huge thank you to John Deere and LandHQ for giving Lilly and the other women this fantastic opportunity within our industry, the program was a huge success for all involved, and we look forward to more great initiatives like this in the future.
‘Overall I have had such a great time working with everyone and learning and soaking up so much knowledge. It’s safe to say I’m definitely growing my passion for Greenkeeping! I can’t wait to put all the things I’ve learnt into place and continue growing professionally and personally.
I’m so grateful for the experience, and I want to say a huge thank you to Scott, Joe and Dane for putting me forward for the program. It means a lot to me, to be able to be a part of a great program that is to fully support women in this industry. The inclusivity and diversity is super important, and it’s amazing to see all parties be so supportive of the cause!’
